Court Registry Support Officer – Whangārei District/High Court
Fixed-term, full-time position available until December 2027.
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
As a Court Registry Support Officer, you'll be part of a friendly team that helps the Court run smoothly each day. This is an entry-level role, so it's a great opportunity to build your skills and experience in a professional environment.
You'll provide general administrative support and assist people who use the Court, including judges, lawyers, court users, and members of the public. You'll be an important first point of contact and will help make sure people receive helpful, professional, and timely service.
Working alongside experienced Court Registry Officers, you'll learn about court processes, case management, and the day-to-day work of the Court. You'll receive support as you learn the role and develop your confidence, knowledge, and skills.
Day to day, your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting Judges and Court Registry Officers both in and out of the courtroom.
- Managing evidence exhibits.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Supporting the jury service function and assisting jurors during trial hearings.
- Providing general administrative support to Court Registry Officers, including photocopying, scanning, and filing.
- Providing timely and efficient customer service, including support and guidance for our diverse customer base.
- Completing data entry and maintaining court records.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Bring proven customer service experience and strong communication skills.
- Be confident, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Be adaptable, resilient, and able to remain calm and professional when working in a fast-paced and often sensitive environment.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and respond positively to change.
- Hold a valid full New Zealand driver's licence.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The remuneration band for this role is $56,343 to $74,416 – the appointing salary will be based on the technical skills and experience.
