Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and delivery-focused Project Manager to join the Te Au Reka Programme. In this role, you will lead the planning, delivery, monitoring, and reporting of key projects that support one of New Zealand's most significant justice transformation programmes.
You will work closely with programme teams, subject matter experts, and senior leaders to ensure projects are successfully delivered, risks are proactively managed, and stakeholders remain informed and engaged. You'll play a critical role in aligning project delivery with programme objectives, providing high-quality information to support decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in project and programme practices.

What you'll be doing
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects within the Te Au Reka programme.
- Manage project scope, timelines, risks, issues, dependencies, and resources.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to support leadership and governance decision-making.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to drive project outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across the Ministry, judiciary, government agencies, suppliers, and programme teams.
- Support change management activities to ensure successful implementation of project outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and strengthen programme delivery practices.
- Contributing to governance forums and providing insights on implementation risks and delivery status.
- Championing high-quality delivery, continuous improvement and collaborative ways of working.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone who combines strong project delivery expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a passion for driving successful outcomes.
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in project management.
- Experience delivering complex projects from initiation through to implementation, including planning, scheduling, resource management, risk management, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of project and change management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and/or Prosci.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication skills, including preparing reports, facilitating workshops, and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Experience identifying risks and issues, developing practical solutions, and driving successful resolution.
- Ability to influence and promote effective project and programme management practices across teams.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and complex environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience managing complex programmes or projects within large organisations.
- Understanding of public sector environments, governance requirements, and performance reporting.
- Experience working with senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Experience supporting programme delivery within a large-scale transformation or digital change initiative.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The salary range for this role is between $112,766 and $154,680, based on skills and experience.
