Te Haeata/The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Te Au Reka Data Enablement, the Senior Advisor is a Fixed Term Full Time opportuinity 30 May 2029 contributes to the development and delivery of Te Au Reka and supports the day-to-day operation of the programme's Data Enablement function. The role applies broad knowledge and subject matter expertise to support the delivery of data, reporting, analytics, and information initiatives that enable informed decision-making and contribute to enduring, user-centric service excellence.
Working closely with programme teams, stakeholders, technical specialists, and vendors, the Senior Advisor provides advice, analysis, and coordination to help ensure business and information needs are understood and translated into practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that support programme outcomes.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy within agreed parameters, the Senior Advisor supports continuous improvement, promotes effective data and information management practices, and contributes to the successful delivery of trusted information, meaningful insights, and sustainable data capabilities across Te Au Reka. The role also actively supports the development of team capability through coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.
The role contributes to the successful delivery of Te Au Reka Data Enablement by ensuring that:
- Data enablement initiatives are supported through the provision of high-quality advice, analysis, and subject matter expertise.
- Reporting, analytics, data, and information management activities are effectively planned, coordinated, and delivered.
- Stakeholders, delivery teams, technical specialists, and vendors work collaboratively to resolve issues, manage dependencies, and achieve shared outcomes.
- Business processes, standards, frameworks, and practices support effective and sustainable data and information management.
- Decision-makers are supported through clear analysis, recommendations, reports, and briefings.
- Governance, assurance, and programme reporting activities are informed by accurate and timely information.
- Stakeholder engagement and change activities support the successful adoption of new capabilities and ways of working.
- Trusted data and information are used to support operational, regulatory, and performance outcomes.
- Continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented to strengthen programme delivery and long-term sustainability.
- Team capability is enhanced through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

We're looking for someone with experience in:
- a senior advisory, business analysis, programme coordination, policy, service improvement, or related role within a complex organisation.
- supporting the delivery of large-scale business, digital, data, or transformation programmes.
- working with data, reporting, analytics, information management, or data governance initiatives.
- working with a broad range of stakeholders and building effective relationships across business and technical teams.
- supporting governance, planning, reporting, risk, issue, or assurance activities.
- contributing to change initiatives and supporting the adoption of new processes, services, or ways of working.
- working within the public sector or other complex regulatory environments would be advantageous.
- Strong:
- analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop practical recommendations.
- communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality briefings, reports, presentations, and recommendations for a range of audiences.
- facilitation and engagement skills, with the ability to bring people together to achieve shared outcomes.
- Sound judgement and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $99,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
