Job Description
We have two exciting opportunities for experienced operational leaders to join Centralised Services as Manager, Justice Services.
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
The Manager, Justice Services – Centralised Services leads nationally delivered registry services that support the effective operation of courts and tribunals across Aotearoa. This includes ensuring quality service delivery that supports our customers, protects the Ministry's reputation, and enhances the customer experience.
A key part of this role is leading leaders to develop capable, engaged and high-performing teams that deliver consistently excellent service outcomes.
The Manager Justice Services roles report to the National Manager Centralised Services and is responsible for:
- Providing clear direction and communication to enable leaders to consistently deliver high quality services.
- Providing quality leadership coaching and support to build and maintain a high-performance team culture.
- Building and sustaining trusted relationships with the judiciary through proactive engagement and collaboration on operational priorities and service improvements.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver modern, people-centred justice services.
- Leading people to effectively implement and embed key priorities towards continuing to strengthen people's trust in the law.
This role is also expected to drive business goals and priorities while also ensuring optimal resource allocation for the delivery of day-to-day services and embedding of justice initiatives. You will use customer insights, operational performance information and data-driven decision making to continuously improve services and strengthen customer outcomes.
It is an exciting time to be taking on this leadership role as we continue to make progress towards improving access and experiences for those attending courts and tribunals – particularly with Te Au Reka and Te Ao Mārama on the horizon. We are therefore looking for a strong leader who can bring positive energy, a great attitude and a willingness to collaborate with highly engaged teams, judiciary and sector partners.

You will bring:
Experience leading teams and operational delivery functions in a complex customer service, processing or service delivery environment.
- Demonstrated success leading through others and building high-performing, engaged teams.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on service quality and customer outcomes.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience using data, insights and performance measures to drive improvements and inform decision-making.
- Sound financial, resource and risk management capability.
- Experience leading change, implementing improvements and supporting teams through periods of change.
- Strong judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions in complex environments.
- A commitment to improving outcomes for Māori and embedding culturally responsive leadership practices.
- Knowledge of the justice sector or courts environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $130,129 and $168,062 based on skills and experience.
