We are looking for people as passionate about data as we are. In Sector Insights, we are united in a common goal of using data to drive insights to inform decision making by justice sector leaders. We support justice agencies to work together to deliver ambitious results for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

Your role as an Analyst (Level 1) is a catalyst for change and improvement based on empirical data. You will use the data available to you to investigate a myriad of issues facing the justice sector, sometimes with a well-defined hypothesis beforehand, and sometimes to solely explore the data and see what jumps out. 

Your natural curiosity and keen analytical skills will illuminate previously undiscovered issues and opportunities for growth; insights, that without this investigation, would remain hidden and the data meaningless. Your role is to communicate the same story, with the same data, across different areas of the business.

This advertisement pertains to two vacant positions within the Business Intelligence team. Our Business Intelligence team supports operational decision-making by enabling efficient data access and is the ‘go-to' for data preparation, manipulation and maintenance. This team requires proficiency in a range of tools, including SQL, SAS and PowerBI.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• a strong sense of team, engaging and helping others around you to succeed
• a tertiary degree in a relevant field
• experience using analytical software (such as SAS or Excel).

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,066 and $90,008 based on skills and experience.
