Chief District Court Judge's Chambers

We invite applications for an Executive Support role to assist the Director of the Chief District Court Judge's Chambers. We are seeking someone who is confident, warm, proactive, and able to remain calm under pressure. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, be IT‑savvy, and able to work efficiently while managing competing priorities.
About the role
This is an opportunity to support a senior leader in a fast‑paced environment. The Executive Support/Kaiāwhina serves as the primary point of contact for the Director and her Office.
Key responsibilities
- Full diary management and ensuring that priorities and changes are managed effectively
- Preparing for senior level meetings by gathering, collating, distributing, and organising information
- Drafting and replying to correspondence and papers on behalf of the Director
- All travel and accommodation arrangements for the Director
- Coordinating Office wide events or priorities as directed by the Director
- Working as part of a highly collaborative team to support the overall needs of the Director.

- Experience in a similar role providing high-quality administration or executive support
- Strong planning and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills
- Experience handling confidential information appropriately and with absolute care

- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all times
- A proven multitasker who can juggle competing priorities
- The ability to be flexible and adapt when plans change
- The ability to build effective relationships at all levels, including with members of the judiciary.

The Chief District Court Judge's Chambers / Te Whare o Ngā Kaihautū Waka o Te Kōti-ā-Rohe o Aotearoa is a small, high-impact team that provides administrative, advisory, operational and strategic support to the District Court Judicial Leadership team, the Kaihautū, comprising the Chief District Court Judge, Principal Family Court Judge, Principal Youth Court Judge and the National Executive Judge. This support enables the Kaihautū to undertake their statutory and non-statutory functions and their overall leadership and administration of the District Court to ensure the delivery of timely, impartial and open justice.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $60,729 to $80,794 based on skills and experience.
