Te Haeata/The Opportunity
The Manager, Communications Delivery plays a critical role in leading clear, consistent, and engaging communications that support the successful delivery and adoption of Te Au Reka. The role ensures that people across the Ministry of Justice, Judiciary and other key stakeholders understand why change is occurring, how it affects them and how they can participate.
As part of the Change and Engagement team and working closely with the Te Au Reka Leadership Team, the Manager provides both strategic and hands-on expertise to build confidence, readiness and commitment to the future way of working in the courts.
The Manager leads a small team of communications professionals, providing strategic oversight and practical leadership to ensure high-quality, timely, and impactful communication products. This includes internal and external communications, engagement materials, and supporting collateral. The Manager will ensure the team has the capability, tools, and processes to deliver effectively.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in communications leadership, ideally within complex change environments.
- Strong people leadership capability and the ability to build a high‑performing communications function.
- The ability to handle a fast-paced environment, where priorities can change at a moment's notice.
- The ability to translate strategy into communication that resonates across diverse audiences.
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga.
- In-depth knowledge of our Court and Tribunal environments and an understanding of the opportunities that Te Au Reka will bring.
- A willingness to be a team player and to contribute to delivering Programme outcomes of a high standard.
- A passion for storytelling, engagement, and helping people understand why change matters and how to be part of it.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role is between $149,972 and $206,570 based on skills and experience.
