We are seeking a determined and savvy ‘Operation Support Advisor' to join our North Region leadership team – this full-time position is part of the wider NSO team within the Operational support Delivery Group at the Ministry of Justice.
- The Operations Support Advisor will support and assist the Regional Security Manager to effectively manage the region including but not limited to supporting in the leadership of the north region. Conducting employee investigations, internal audits and performance action plans that will enhance operational outputs.
- This position is part of the NSO Leadership Team, working closely with court security colleagues to ensure a seamless workflow between court security teams, leading escalations operational leadership of high-risk events like pandemics or emergency situations where a cross agency, and national level response is required including the development and implementation of any risk management plans required.
Relationship Building
- Positively engage with CSMs and RSMs around the country to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Support strong relationships with all members of the NSO Leadership Team to ensure there is a collaborative flow of information and support across NSO.
- Support in building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external key
Team Effectiveness
- Contribute toward a positive team culture that enables the high performance of the immediate team, Business Unit, Business Group, and organisation.
- Share knowledge, time, and expertise to assist other members of the
- Provide constructive feedback to team members and be receptive to receiving
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Knowledge and experience in the practical application of the Courts Security Act 1999.
- Project management qualification would be adventageous.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level National Security Clearance.
- Recent experience in leading operational response to high risk, multi-agency
- Experience in working across the justice sector developing operational security plans for high-risk events.
- Sound risk management thinking and experience.
- Strong working relationships with the judiciary, and other justice sector partners.
- Experience in leading cross agency operational briefings.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of the Health and Safety at Work
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, considering all risk, and ensuring briefing up occurs in a timely manner.
Please note, this role is a permanent full-time role based in Auckland.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $99,208- $127,683 based on skills and experience.
