Permanent, Full Time - Gisborne Māori Land Court
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
A Pae Tukutuku is critical to the successful daily operation of the Māori Land Court and makes a huge positive difference in the lives of tangata whenua.
This position sits within the Tairāwhiti District (Gisborne), where we are involved with processing applications for Māori Land. The main part of this Pae Tukutuku role is to ensure the delivery of quality information and customer service relating to the timely progression of applications to the Court and clerk of the Court which includes panui compilation, Clerking, organising and typing up some transcriptions from the Court Hearings, travel to off-site venues. A full and clean drivers licence is essential.
You will be required to assist with setting up the facilitation of our dispute resolution process, draft submissions and reports from the Court's records, and conduct whakapapa research to determine ownership details.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role you will have experience in customer service, both in front line and written capacities. With these strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to act with tact and discretion. We also need strong computer skills to go along with your written communication skills.
We are searching for someone who is looking to have time and training invested into them so that they may continue to pursue careers further within the Ministry of Justice.

- Have strong research abilities
- Have an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Māori
- Be able to work autonomously and collaboratively

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $59,729 and $80,794 based on skills and experience.
