Are you highly organised, detail-focused, and skilled at bringing people together to achieve results? Do you want to play a central role in strengthening health, safety, and security outcomes across the Ministry?
We are looking for a self-motivated Governance Coordinator – Health, Safety & Security Assurance (HSSA) to support the Director and leadership team in delivering on our health, safety, and security objectives.
In this role, you will:
- coordinate key governance forums, including the Judicial MoU Forum, HSSC – SLT, and National Health & Safety Committee
- ensure agendas, papers, minutes, and follow-up actions are accurate, timely, and well-tracked
- maintain governance systems to monitor decisions, risks, and deliverables, giving confidence that assurance responsibilities are being met
- support the Director with executive coordination, including workflow, correspondence, and diary management
- build strong relationships across the Ministry and justice sector.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- strong organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- proven experience in governance support, planning, reporting, or project coordination
- confidence working with senior leaders and engaging across diverse stakeholders
- an eye for detail, with the ability to analyse and present information clearly
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
Government and/or health & safety experience is desirable but not essential.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $66,066 and $90,008 based on skills and experience.
