Job Description
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the planning, programme management and delivery of the Ministry's Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) programme.
This is a dynamic, fast paced role suited to someone who thrives in complexity and is confident managing multi-faceted workstreams and diverse stakeholders.
This newly created position is a 12-month fixed term opportunity. You will be responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of the work programme – from strategic planning and governance to risk management and reporting. You will ensure successful delivery against tight timeframes and policy objectives.
In this role, you will be:
- leading complex work programme planning and performance reporting in the public sector
- driving delivery across complex workstreams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and efficient use of resources
- designing and supporting effective governance structures to enable high-quality decision-making and oversight
- building strong working relationships within teams and across wider groups of stakeholders.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- proven experience in managing large-scale, complex programmes—preferably within a public policy or government environment
- a relevant qualification in programme/project management or equivalent experience
- a strong understanding of public sector systems, processes, and accountabilities
- a collaborative, inclusive, and politically astute approach to relationship management.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $129,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
