Senior Learning Analyst – Learning and Development
Fulltime, fixed-term

As a Senior Learning Analyst, you will go deep into the detail to truly understand what learning is needed and how we should evaluate its effectiveness. This means you will have an in depth understanding of how to draw on a variety of sources to identify the competencies, capabilities and skills needed in a role. You will know how to complete a skill-gap analysis and how to translate this into measurable learning objectives. You will know how to assess learning and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions, drawing on evaluation insights to make recommendations for ongoing continuous improvement.
Your insights will provide clarity to others in the L&D team to accurately plan, design, and deliver sustainable learning pathways, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Your role is critical in empowering the L&D team to effectively meet the needs of learners and align learning solutions with the Ministry's strategic goals.
You will collaborate with others in the L&D team, business units, operational groups, data teams and key stakeholders to gather the insights you need for your analysis and to report your evaluation findings. You will report to the Manager Learning Planning and Quality Assurance.
This role requires someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment. You must be organised, collaborative, and adaptable, with the ability to lead a project immediately. Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this position you will have:
- a relevant tertiary qualification
- over 5 years of experience in an education, learning design or learning and development context, preferably leading the end-to-end learning design and development process from planning and analysis to evaluation
- in-depth understanding of learning analysis, capability mapping and evaluative methodology, with a proven track record of applying this knowledge and experience in achieving successful and effective outcomes
- effective relationship management skills, including a proven ability to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships within an organisation
- an in depth understanding of quality assurance in a learning setting.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
