We have a great opportunity to join a high-performing Risk and Internal Audit team that works closely with stakeholders across the Ministry of Justice to support the delivery of our organisational strategy and priorities.
We're seeking a strategic thinker with strong analytical capability to take on the role of Senior Advisor – Risk & Internal Audit. You'll play a critical role in providing practical, innovative, and solution-focused advice that adds real value to the Ministry.
In this role, you will:
- ensure robust framework and capabilities are in place to support effective delivery of risk management and assurance activities
- lead reviews that help improve the system of internal control and mitigate risks
- develop a strategic and operational view of risk and assurance, informed by analysis and insight
- enable and support business groups, teams and projects to identify and manager risks.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
We're looking for an experienced internal audit and risk professional who loves finding out how things work and helping others. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a relevant tertiary qualification and/ or at least 3 years' experience in internal audit and/or risk management discipline
- significant experience providing thought leadership on risk management and assurance frameworks, policies and practices
- a proven ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture across complex systems
- a stakeholder focused approach, with a strong ability to build enduring connections to improve outcomes
- cultural competency, including an understanding and appreciation of Tikanga Māori.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
