The Ministry of Justice is looking for a seasoned Principal Advisor – Learning & Development to drive forward-thinking, people-centred strategies across our largest business group: Operations and Service Delivery (OSD). As Principal Advisor, you'll be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of strategic learning & development (L&D) frameworks. You'll bring thought leadership, Te Ao Māori perspectives, and a strong analytical approach to shape learning programmes that directly enhance service delivery and employee experience.
Your key responsibilities in this role will be, but not limited to:
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Operations and Service Delivery (OSD) people capability, intervention and activities that align with the strategic direction of the Ministry.
- Provide thought leadership in key areas of focus within people capabilities and translate this into tangible L&D programmes.
- Collaborate early and often with wider enterprise and other learning and development teams, to plan the implementation of broader enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Assess opportunities to continuously improve L&D practices and programmes. Identify learning/improvement opportunities for the future.
- Mentor team members and contribute to an inclusive, high-performing culture.

To be successful in the role, you will have:
- relevant graduate degree qualification; or equivalent level of experience working in programme management, human-centred design, L&D and/or OD environment.
- deep expertise in L&D disciplines gained in a complex environment demonstrated by measurable and proven business impact and improvements through previous experience.
- experience researching, analysing and developing workable solutions to complex problems.
- experience in effective relationship management including relating effectively with managers and staff at all levels.
- experience in developing strategy and sourcing L&D solutions to support a particular business strategy or change (large or medium scale).
- strong project management skills to drive progress.
- well-developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate clearly at a senior level.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $129,129 and $179,192 based on skills and experience.
