Job Description
Make a real impact: Become part of our vision to eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence in Aotearoa New Zealand
Are you ready to be part of something bigger? We are a unit with a significant system role, working across government to take collective action against family violence and sexual violence.
We steward the family violence and sexual violence system and drive realisation of the cross-agency strategy—Te Aorerekura. We work in partnership with iwi, hapū and communities across Aotearoa New Zealand, placing survivors, families, and whānau at the heart of everything we do.
Te Haeata/The Opportunity
Te Puna Aonui is seeking a Senior Advisor to join our Māori Outcomes & Partnerships team.
You will lead the design and implementation of a Māori outcomes framework, develop systems for data collection and analysis, and manage relationships with hapū, iwi, and NGOs.
You will also provide policy guidance and support team effectiveness to advocate for whānau centred approaches to prevention, response and healing from family violence and sexual violence that are grounded in kaupapa Māori service delivery.
While this position is focused on measures and insights into the way that Māori experience family violence and sexual violence, we are determined to use this learning to create positive change.
The Māori Outcomes & Partnerships team leads partnerships with hapū and iwi, drives organisational capability and strengthens strategic relationships with Māori by working across all of Te Puna Aonui to provide high-quality strategic and operational advice on best practice.
We support the development of initiatives, reports, and communication materials that create meaningful impact for Māori communities.
Ō Pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will:
- relevant tertiary qualification in Kaupapa Māori research and evaluation methodologies or equivalent experience
- proven ability to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through guiding and advising others
- superior relationship management skills, particularly with Māori
- strong written and oral communication skills, including Te Reo Māori
- experience in research, data analysis, and Māori data sovereignty frameworks.
No candidate will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we have outlined and believe you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you!
