We are seeking a full-time, permanent Finance Advisor to join our high performing Banking team in Wellington. As a Finance Advisor, you'll provide expert financial management services to ensure the Ministry's banking systems and accounts, FMIS, and other Ministry systems that support payments operate smoothly and effectively. You'll play a key role in banking administration, reconciliations, transaction processing, financial reporting, and supporting stakeholders with your financial expertise.

With the rise of New Zealand open banking and ongoing developments in the banking industry, exciting opportunities are emerging to be part of our journey in enhancing Ministry banking and payment processes.

To be successful in this role you will:

• have an understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
• ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional and positive outlook, manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• attention to detail and high level of accuracy, along with proven written and oral communication skills and a customer service mindset
• a self-starter, with the ability to use initiative, pre-empt information requests and be approachable with a can-do attitude
• a commitment to building Māori capability - both personally and within the team.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $59,729 and $80,794 based on skills and experience.
