This is a full-time permanent opportunity in our Outcomes for Māori team based here in Wellington.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to make difference as part of the Ātea ā Rangi – Strategy group within the Ministry of Justice. Our team works collaboratively across the Ministry, the Justice sector and communities to improve justice outcomes for Māori.
The team is focussed on identifying and nurturing opportunities to improve outcomes for Māori through effective partnership, and design and delivery of innovative, evidence-based interventions. The Senior Advisor is a key analytical and advisory role within our team.
Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated senior advisory experience in large complex organisations, including:
- working within or with hapū, iwi or Māori organisations
- working collaboratively with organisational business groups, government agencies and external partners to achieve shared goals
- appropriate application and use of te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori and tikanga Māori
- policy research and analysis skills
- communicating with a wide range of audiences on complex issues
- comfort with navigating ambiguity
- building and strengthening relationships.
You will be a natural collaborator who works effectively as part of a team and a larger group. You will also have the personal confidence and resilience to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
