Te Au Reka - Improving access to justice for all New Zealanders
Te Au Reka represents the opportunity of a lifetime, making a profound difference to those who work in, and interact with, courts and tribunals. This new digital case management system will help modernise the administration of justice in Aotearoa New Zealand. It will replace highly manual, time-consuming, paper-based processes, transforming the way people access and experience justice in New Zealand.

Te Haeata/The Opportunity
It is an exciting time to join the Digital and Information team here within the Te Au Reka programme. Our approach for the new operating model is truly customer centric and service-based, driven by the need for continuous improvement and maintenance throughout the service lifecycle.
This Business Analyst role sits within the Digital and Information Delivery team for Te Au Reka.
The Delivery team is responsible for providing support for the initial design and development of the Te Au Reka service, and then for ongoing operational management and support once the service is rolled out. The Delivery team will also be responsible for continuous improvements to the service as part of product roadmap.
As the Business Analyst within the Delivery Team, you will work closely with the Delivery Manager and Delivery Team key members such as the Test Manager, Solution Architect and Technical Product Manager. The Delivery team is a cross-functional team focussed on ensuring the delivery of Te Au Reka meets required programme outcomes and delivers value.
You will enjoy working in transformational programmes of work, be experienced in managing ambiguity and value diversity of thought while respecting culture and traditions. You will contribute to creating an inclusive work environment where differences are acknowledged and respected, contributing to a strong team that delivers in a positive environment. Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- a tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- relevant certifications
- variety of requirements elicitation and analysis techniques
- understanding of service design techniques
- excellent communication skills
- effective relationship management including leading business value conversations, influencing stakeholders at all levels and
- experience in Business Case writing
- a bias towards critical and big picture thinking and collaboration
- experience in the delivery of digital solutions using a range of project lifecycle methodologies
A sound understanding of the machinery of government and experience in Te Reo Māori would be advantageous.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $103,226 and $144,034 based on skills and experience.
