Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role
At the Ministry of Justice, we put our customers at the forefront of everything we do. Our Contact Centre team are the first point of contact for everyone phoning the Ministry nationwide. We received 935,839 calls in the last financial year and are now recruiting for additional National Registry Officers.
Based in Ellerslie, you'll be the first point of contact for all our customers calling the Ministry. You'll appreciate and respect that each of our customers are individual and have unique situations. You'll see this position as an opportunity to help people.
He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience
You don't need to have experience working in a Contact Centre, but you'll need good communication skills, an ability to think on your feet, and a passion for helping people. You'll be keen to learn, be mindful and communicate well with concerned customers. The Contact Centre is open from 8 -5pm Monday to Friday. We are looking for full time National Registry Officers.

Salary Range: The remuneration band for this role is $50,128 to $70,768 – while the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this role.

Our Interview Process
- If you are successful, then you will be invited to an onsite assessment centre on any given day of the week of the 5th June.
- You may have this role in mind, but we assess you for suitability to work in any of our frontline roles, ensuring we appoint the right people into the right roles.
- The start date for our new National Registry Officer is expected to be Monday 18th July.
The Ministry's top priority is the safety and wellbeing of its employees. We already have existing protocols in place to provide a safe workplace. We're now strengthening those protocols with a COVID-19 vaccination policy requiring that all roles across Te Tāhū o te Ture are carried out by people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
