This is a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate or early career data analyst to join a well-established team that works in partnership across the Ministry of Justice.
Sector Insights is a multi-disciplinary group that brings together the best of strategy, policy, data analysis and research and evaluation capabilities to inform decision making by justice agency leaders. We support justice agencies to work together to deliver ambitious results for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

The Analytics and Insights (Courts and Tribunals) team is one of three teams within Sector Insights. The insights and advice we provide are highly sought after and our work is characterised by innovation, quality and impact.
The Analytics and Insights teams turn data into insight to support the delivery of better services and outcomes to people engaging with the Justice system. We achieve this by helping our partners answer three critical questions: What's happening? Why is it happening? and what would happen if?
This allows the Ministry's operational leaders to focus their front-line improvement efforts on the areas that will make the biggest difference to New Zealanders.

To be successful in this role you will need:

- A positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexibility to respond to ambiguity, multiple deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders
- A delivery focus, with persistence to work towards long term goals
- Good communication skills and the ability to translate your findings into a compelling narrative
- A tertiary degree in a relevant field
- Experience using analytical software (such as SAS or Excel)

Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $54,689 to $71,417 based on skills and experience.
