The National Transcription Service is part of the Ministry of Justice and provides transcription services to various jurisdictions, including Māori Land Court, Waitangi Tribunal, Higher Courts, District Courts and Special Jurisdictions. We also provide transcription services to a small number of other agencies.
To undertake this role, the desired applicant will have a high level of aural (hearing ability), oral (spoken ability) and written reo Māori capability, and a desired typing speed of 70 wpm while still maintaining a focus on accuracy. You will have proven skills in vocabulary, spelling and grammar (both in reo Māori and English) and demonstrate an ability to operate within a bilingual framework. On-going training will be provided to the successful applicant.
You will be joining a team with iwi affiliations to Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa, Te Arawa, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngati Kahungunu, Rongomaiwahine, Te Ati Haunui-a-Paparangi and Ngāti Tūwharetoa.
This role can be situated in Tāmaki-makau-rau.
Salary range: $48,853 - $68,968
