The Joint Venture, Family Violence and Sexual Violence
The Government has committed to significantly reducing family violence and sexual violence through an integrated, whole-of-government response. A Joint Venture of Chief Executives of key government agencies has been established to support Ministers with strategy development, high quality analysis and advice, and to lead a whole-of-government response to family violence and sexual violence. A Maori-Crown partnership has also been established to make progress on this important agenda. The Joint Venture Business Unit (JVBU) has responsibility to lead, support and coordinate the work of the Joint Venture in order to prevent, detect and respond to family violence and sexual violence and to work alongside NGOs and communities.
We are looking for two experienced policy advisors to join our newly established strategic policy function – the Design, Integration and Innovation team. The roles are part of a team of experienced advisors who lead the JVBU's policy thinking. Key skills required are policy, machinery of government, stakeholder management, cross-government working. No prior knowledge of family and sexual violence is required. Key responsibilities for these roles include:
- leading policy development for the national strategy and action plan in specific policy areas (e.g. leadership, early intervention, crisis response, long term healing)
- working closely with lead agencies on dealing with sexual harassment
- leading for the JVBU on implementing Budget 2019 funding for violence prevention initiatives, including engagement with JV agencies and regional/community stakeholders, options analysis and advice, and implementation planning
- feeding into and influencing other cross-Government wellbeing policy work.
Salary range: $114,785 - $162,050
