Joint Venture Buiness Unit - Eliminating Family and Sexual Violence
The Government has committed to significantly reducing family violence and sexual violence through an integrated, whole-of-government response. A Joint Venture of Chief Executives of key government agencies has been established to support Ministers with strategy development, high quality analysis and advice, and to lead a whole-of-government response to family violence and sexual violence. A Maori-Crown partnership has also been established to make progress on this important agenda. The Joint Venture Business Unit (JVBU) has responsibility to lead, support and coordinate the work of the Joint Venture in order to prevent, detect and respond to family violence and sexual violence and to work alongside NGOs and communities.
The JVBU is looking for a people leader with a strong background in Policy. No prior knowledge of family and sexual violence is required. The Policy Manager will be a core member of the policy management team of the JVBU. The Policy Manager will work closely with the Deputy Director (Design, Integration and Innovation) and the Chief Advisor (National Strategy and Action Plan). Key responsibilities for this role are:
- leading the strategic policy function of the JVBU, with a focus on managing the team that is responsible for the development of a national strategy and action plan to end family and sexual violence
- building a supportive team culture with high staff engagement
- building strong relationships with policy functions in JV agencies
- managing JVBU input into and connections with other cross-Government policy work
The Joint Venture Business Unit is currently located at the Ministry of Health building at 133 Molesworth Street and is a business unit of the Ministry of Justice.
