Senior Advisor, Communications
It's an exciting time at the Ministry of Justice as we seek to deliver people-centred justice services to the people of New Zealand.
Communication Services works with a wide range of people to build trust and confidence in the Ministry, showing how we are delivering on our strategy for the people of New Zealand.
Due to increasing demands, we have established an exciting new role to provide additional communications support to the Chief District Court Judge and Judges of the District Courts throughout New Zealand. You will work closely with the Strategic Advisor CDCJ. Based in Wellington, this is a full-time permanent role. You will split your working week with about four days per week serving the judiciary and one day a week working on other Ministry communications tasks.
You will be able to demonstrate exceptional levels of integrity and an ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and careful manner. You will be able to show that you can develop well-considered media plans that capitalise on opportunities and help mitigate risk.
This is an exciting and challenging role, which will require an in-depth knowledge of the machinery of government, an understanding of the separation of powers and the independence of the three branches of government. This role will report to the Communications Manager, at the Ministry of Justice.
We expect you will be politically astute and have experience working in communications within a complex environment. A proven track record of effectively working with media is essential. The salary range for this role is $82,394 to $116,321.
