If so, we would like you to apply for our new vacancy in the Provider Services (Legal Aid) team for a Senior Advisor (Lead Complaints). This is a full-time permanent role.
Our team sits within Provider and Community Services and manages the quality assurance framework for legal aid providers. This ensures that the service provided to legal aid clients is consistent across the country and that everyone can have confidence in the quality of services provided by legal aid lawyers.
The Senior Advisor (Lead Complaints) plays a key role in assisting quality assurance in Legal Aid. The position conducts investigations and objectively gathers, reviews and analyses all evidence collected during an investigation. In addition, the Senior Advisor looks at the potential for early or alternative resolution of cases and takes appropriate steps to facilitate resolution. The position is part of a collegial and supportive team.
The role requires someone who can produce high quality written material that analyses the relevant evidence related to a complaint, has demonstrated sound professional judgement, has good relationship management skills and can manage processes effectively. In this role, a legal or a disputes resolution background would be highly desirable.
We are interested in hearing from senior advisors/advisors with tertiary qualifications, experienced in providing trusted advice, leading significant pieces of work, and forming and maintaining positive relationships. You will have a sound grasp of the machinery of government and legislative processes, and have excellent communication skills. A legal background would be an advantage.
We are also interested in hearing from legal practitioners looking to transition into government or someone currently working in a quality assurance/disputes resolution area wanting a new opportunity.
