Manager Inquiry Facilitation, Waitangi Tribunals
The Waitangi Tribunal Unit provides support services to the Waitangi Tribunal which is tasked with inquiring into and reporting on claims submitted by Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975. Support services to the Tribunal include the facilitation of inquiry phases through well designed and structured planning.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced people leader who can inspire and lead a team of facilitators in a commission of inquiry environment. The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver against a complex and demanding inquiry work programme and so project management experience, or experience of complex multi-year service planning and delivery, would be advantageous. They must be an effective communicator, have knowledge of facilitation methodologies and approaches and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a senior leadership team. Resilience and confidence are important attributes to be effective in this position.
The facilitation team is customer and stakeholder facing and as such the manager of this team will bring extensive relationship and stakeholder experience, particularly with Māori groups and organisations, and ideally with judicial officers. Strong candidates will also have an understanding of, and commitment to, the work of the Waitangi Tribunal including knowledge of te reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori.
Salary range: $101,580 - $137,432
