The Health, Safety and Security (HSS) group supports the Ministry's managers and employees to put health, safety and security at the heart of everything they do. We are made up of four teams – Performance Advice, Health and Safety and Emergency Management, Privacy and Security Policy and National Security Operations. The group leads the development of HSS strategy and operational policy and are responsible for the design, development and deployment of programmes and initiatives that support and strengthen the Ministry's HSS culture.
The Regional Security Manager, National Security Operations (RSM), provides a critical leadership role and reports to the Director National Security Operations. The position is responsible for providing proactive and effective operational management in response to the security needs of all court users; particularly for the personal security of the Judiciary and Ministry staff, and for co-ordinating efficient and effective security and facilities management services for the region.
The RSM - Southern provides leadership to field based Team Leaders and Court Security Officers spread across the South Island. The RSM is also the first point of contact for regionally-located Judicial officers for issues such as threat identification and mitigation and general security issues, and will work closely on these matters with the nationally located Senior Advisor Judicial Security.
There are four RSM positions and they are closely aligned with our operational service delivery regional managers. They are situated in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch to ensure close communications with the operational service delivery part of the business.
We are looking for someone with senior-level leadership with proven operations management experience. The following skills whilst not essential are considered beneficial:
- In-depth operational security experience
- Experience with technical security including X-Ray screening machines, access control, CCTV and duress and monitoring alarm systems
- Security and/or employment investigations experience
- Budget management experience
- Leading culture change
We are looking for someone who has impressive relationship management and communications skills who will lead and drive their regional team to new levels of professionalism and effectiveness.
The salary midpoint is $103,605.00 for this role. The starting salary will be negotiable depending on skills and experience.
