We are currently seeking an experienced individual who has the right amount of technical knowledge to provide advice and guidance on numerous software technologies and possesses comprehensive knowledge of infrastructural networks in an enterprise organisation.
The successful applicant would be joining a vibrant and extremely competent Technology Services team that strives to ensure the Ministry is in the forefront of modern technological influences and directions and able to apply that to the concept of a modern digital world that is customer centric.
About the role:
This is a permanent full-time position located within the Ministry of Justice National Office, Wellington. This position is suitable for an experienced software developer of varied skill sets who can combine technical and administrative experiences into a single force of motivational inspiration for themselves and other team members. The applicant must be able to work under broad direction that may often be self-initiated. You will be responsible for meeting allocated technical and project objectives, establishing milestones and receiving assignment of tasks and/or responsibilities from the Technical Product Leads. The successful person will report directly to the Manager, Applications Development & Support. The salary range for this position is: $83,428.00 - $112,873.00 (mid-point $98,150.00)
Skills and experience required:
• Programming/software development
The design, creation, testing and documenting of new and amended software components from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes.
• Systems Design
To be able to provide specification and design of information systems to meet defined business needs. The identification of concepts and their translation into implementable design. The retention of compatibility of systems with enterprise and solution architectures, and the adherence to corporate standards within constraints of cost, security and maintainability. • Application Support
Assist in resolving software issues by providing advice or training to users, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults, making general or site-specific modifications, updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements.
• Systems Development Management
The management of resources in order to plan, estimate and carry out programmes of solution development work to time, budget, quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards, methods and procedures
