This is a new role in the Health, Safety and Security Group - a Group that has grown significantly over the past 12 months. We have a busy work programme underway and it is an exciting time with genuine opportunities to make real changes across the group, Ministry and sector.
The Principal Advisor HSS is a senior role in the Performance Advice team and will work closely with the General Manager Health, Safety and Security and the HSS management team to drive the HSS work programme by ensuring it is appropriately planned, monitored and reported on. They will lead the productions of governance documentation and responses and the Ministry reporting responsibilities for the HSS Group. There is an expectation that you will provide leadership and strategic advice across the HSS group, as well as engage with stakeholders across the Justice Sector to coordinate and maximise the effectiveness of the HSS Group's programme of work.
This position is the mechanism by which the GM can ensure visibility of programme-wide issues, manage trouble shooting and maintain a broad overview of the progress of each of the work streams and the programme - including finance and budget processes. The Principal Advisor HSS ensures that the necessary inputs are provided through the Performance Advisory team to ensure that the GM and the Leadership team have good information upon which to make decisions.
This role requires someone with positive energy, the ability to think outside the square and a consultative and engaging working style. We are also looking for:
- knowledge of and experience applying project management methodologies
- strong analytical and conceptual skills
- the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- an understanding of and experience in governance processes
- excellent and appropriate written documentation at operational and strategic levels
