The Ministry of Justice is seeking a full-time permanent Senior Advisor Emergency Management and Business Continuity. This role is based at National Office in Wellington.
The Ministry of Justice leads the justice sector and is wide-ranging in what it provides - from administering courts, legal aid, public defence service, policy advice and settlement agreements. With over 4,000 staff working over 90 sites the Health and Safety and Emergency Management team are critical to the implementation of and ongoing support and improvement to health and safety initiatives and emergency response within the Ministry of Justice.
About the role:
The Health and Safety and Emergency Management Team develops and delivers strategies and procedures that make the Ministry of Justice a great and safe place to work. As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible to the Team Manager for the development, implementation, improvement and ongoing support of Business Continuity Planning, Civil Defence and National Emergency Management for the Ministry. You will provide the Strategic Leadership Team, managers, Property Team and the judiciary with support and advice, and will take the lead on innovative and exciting programmes of work.
Identify approaches to business continuity planning and develop and implement the approach that best meets the Ministry's needs Monitor and maintain the Ministry's business continuity and national emergency management plans to ensure that these continue to be up-to-date and fit for purpose Liaise with Civil Defence, other emergency management services and other justice and social sector agencies to ensure an integrated approach to emergency management Lead and contribute to the development of contingency plans that contribute to the Ministry's resilience strategies Play a lead role in responding and recovering from emergency events

You will be able to gather information, conduct analysis and identify gaps, have a relevant qualification or working knowledge and the ability to influence others to enable delivery of process improvements.

Salary indication: $85,000 - $110,000.
